Mattox is 3 months old!

He is growing WAY too fast! I can't believe it's already been 3 months. Mattox makes us smile more and more every day! He is such a happy baby. He is always smiling, laughing or cooing. As I type, he is in bed (suppose to be sleeping) squealing and "talking" to himself.
New happenings for this month include sleeping with big brother, Cooper, in the same room and holding his head up really well! He is trying to roll over, but we haven't quite gotten there yet.
We love you Mattox and look forward to each new day with you in our family!

Bittersweet

Most people have heard me mention Cooper's "girlfriends". The year Cooper was born, we had a baby boom at our church. First came Abigail, then Jasmine and Cooper in the same month, then about 8 months later came Kate, then Kylie a few months after her. All of these kids have formed a play group and we have a special bond with them and of course their parents. This month, three of these families are moving away and Cooper had to say goodbye to Jasmine, Kate and Kylie. We are very saddened by this and will miss them all tremendously. We took some pictures on Sunday of all the kids.

Jasmine loves baby Mattox (and I think he likes her too).

Our friend Kate, who we have been playing with a lot lately. We are going to miss her so much!

North Carolina trip (part 2)

The second half of our trip we spent in Raleigh, hanging out with family that we don't see very often. One day we went to a park in Garner and had a picnic and played on the playground. (er..I meant, we let Cooper play on the playground.) This playground had equipment like I had never seen before. It was all open with ropes and bars. Even the slide was skinny.

We all tried this thing. I don't know what to call it, but it was fun!

There were a lot of things that spun around.

Uncle Jonathan and David tried them all.

David's grandparents both have birthdays in July, so we had a birthday party. It was also a great time for the whole Holland family to get together and meet Mattox!

Date with Kyla

A really good friend of mine came into town the other day. Her name is Shawnte' and she and I were college roomates in undergraduate school. Now she lives in Ft. Worth with her husband, Gary, and two precious kids, Kyla and baby Trenton. This was our first time meeting Trenton and her first time to meet Mattox. We went to Chuck E Cheese so the kids could play. We also went with Monica and her kids, another friend of ours.

North Carolina Trip (part 1 - at the Beach)

A couple of weeks ago we flew to Raleigh, NC to visit MeMaw and Poppop. We had a great time and family there got to meet Mattox for the first time. The first few days, we drove to New Bern, NC and spent a few days. We went to the NC aquarium, the beach and (most importantly) Cooper was able to ride in (and drive) MeMaw's boat!!

At the aquarium, we saw all kinds of fish and animals. The live show from the shark tank was really cool. Cooper really wanted to see some seahorses and was excited when he got to see them. He also liked the otters!

Watching the stingrays with MeMaw and Poppop.

Cooper LOVED watching the divers in the shark tank!

Here are some boat pictures! I think this was Cooper's favorite part! Poppop let him sit with him and "drive" the boat. Several times, Cooper found the throttle and stalled the motor. oops!

Driving the boat with Poppop!

So excited!

After the aquarium, we drove to the beach. Cooper, Poppop, David and I played closer to the water while Mattox, MeMaw, Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Heather stayed dry on the sand. Mattox stayed happy and kept MeMaw entertained. Cooper LOVED the water and the waves! He would run straight for them and jump in. When we left, Cooper, David and I were soaked!

Mattox is 2 months old!

I can't believe it has already been 2 months! My babies are growing up way too fast! Here are Mattox's 2 months stats: weight: 12 lbs, 12 oz height: 22 1/4 in. He continues to be a great sleeper. He will usually sleep from 11pm to 6:30am! He is smiling ALL the time now and has even started laughing out loud! His laugh is intoxicating!

Hanging out with Cousin Aria.

Aria LOVES holding Mattox and loves talking to him. I think she likes his hair the best! She has called him "Fuzzy Wuzzy Head" so many times that now Cooper calls him that.

The Brothers - I think they are starting to look alike!

Mattox loves to watch Cooper. Here Cooper was talking about what happened to his Lightening McQueen car. Mattox was fascinated!
